Product Loyalty

These are the products that have earned my loyalty ~ we turn to them time and again. Why? Because the company actually has ethics; or because the product actually does what it is supposed to; or because it is a product that is healthy for my family or the environment; or all the above!

If you take some time to check these out ~ my hope is that you'll find some new favorites to add to your list! Be sure to check back, as I update the list with new products and add any that I might have forgotten along the way!

Note - these are not paid endorsements. This is simply my list of favorite products that I use in the day to day of our family life.

Ugly Mug Coffee - Everything you could want for your coffee company and more! Delicious coffee, chai teas, hot chocolate - all fair trade - and roasted right here in my hometown of Memphis! A Christian company with fair trade ethics - this company definitely deserves our business!

Mugs of Truth - This is the place where you can find the beautiful Scripture Mugs that have a lovely scripture and background image - more of which is revealed when you add a hot liquid to the mug. In addition to the Scripture mugs, they carry Scripture tote bags, Scripture throws and other wonderful products. A lovely Christian company based just up the road from me here in Tennessee.

Shaklee Home Care Products - I use the Shaklee Fragrance Free Laundry Detergent Powder and the Shaklee Dishwasher Powder exclusively. I love these products; they cause no skin irritation, have no strong smells, clean wonderfully, are good for the environment and are easy on my budget. I also use the Basic H for some general household cleaning and to make my home-made stain remover spray.

Capture Carpet Cleaner - A dry-cleaning carpet powder that has removed every stain I've ever asked it to! Available at most home improvement stores, this one has been a mainstay for me for over 10 years. It is one of the safest carpet cleaners I've found; it has no harsh smell and has never caused any allergic reaction in my family. This one is a keeper!

Hyland's Homeopathics - I turn to these time again for our family health. The products I use most are the C-Plus Cold Tablets, Teething Tablets, Teething Gel, Migraine Relief Tablets, Cough Syrup, Arnica tablets for bruising and the Kid's Kit.

Umcka Cold and Cough Herbal Remedy - This is an amazing product. I use the drops for the adults and the syrup for the girls. At the first sign of a cold my family gets a dose of Umcka. It is marketed to reduce the duration and symptoms of a cold and I've found that it does what it says very well.

Sambucol - A great respiratory health little gem!

Airborne Effervescent Cold Tablets - I use these in conjunction with the Umcka above and between the two, colds don't last long at our house!

Bach's Rescue Remedy - A great little stress reliever that is all natural.

Native Remedies - I use a variety of these little gems - K-Ok Kiddie Calmer, Tula Tantrum Tamer, Mind Soothe, Jr, BioVent, Worm Dr, Pure Calm, BronchoSoothe.

Boericke and Tafel - I've had migraine headaches since the 3rd grade. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, my migraines seemed to occur with a little more frequency. I was trying really hard not to take any medications and most for migraines aren't safe during pregnancy. So, I searched high and low to find something that would work and Natrum Muriaticum is what I found. If I take it at the first onset of a migraine and then go to bed, it works wonders. This is pretty much all I have used for the past 9 years and I keep it with me at all times.

Tea Tree Therapy Antiseptic Cream - The first thing I use on all cuts and scrapes at our house. This is great stuff. I make sure I'm never out.

Lansinoh - Not just for nursing mothers. This 100% pure lanolin is also great for moist healing for cuts and scrapes. When my oldest daughter had her nasty bike accident last fall, I used this for several days on most of her abrasions. We had no scarring. This can be used before products like Mederma - and if you look on the label of most of the scar reduction products you'll find lanolin is there.

Colloidal Silver - I use the nasal spray of this by Source Naturals to ward off any sinus infections that might be headed our way. But I also keep a bottle on hand for a multitude of other uses that you can read about at the link provided.

New Vision - We use the liquid vitamins and minerals from this company and have for years. The girls love the taste of both and because I don't have to deal with "tablets", I can give these to my youngest! We also searched high and low for vitamins that had Vitamin A as it naturally occurs as Beta Carotene instead of Vitamin A Palmitate, which is artificial. I find that when I'm taking my vitamins and minerals regularly, my hair stays in great shape, my nails aren't brittle and my migraines don't occur as often. These were also much easier to keep down without any stomach problems or indigestion with all 3 of my pregnancies.

DHC - I use nothing but this line of makeup and face care products from Japan. The products don't clog my pores, don't irritate my skin or cause blemishes - I absolutely love this line.

Avalon Organics - I use the shampoo and conditioners from this company - I really like how they leave my hair clean and shiny.

Tom's of Maine - I don't like for the girls to use fluoride toothpaste. They love the flavor of the strawberry by Tom's.

Dr. Bronner's Soaps - Until the day that I have time to make my own soap (not in the near future!), this is what I'll use. Everything your soap should be without all the chemicals and colorings that you don't need.

Robeez - These are delightful soft-soled shoes that I put my little ones in. Studies have shown that soft-soled shoes that allow beginning walkers to be able to feel the ground and grip with their toes are the best way to start. I heartily agree and these are the only shoes we use until they are running and playing hard outside and need more protection. We use only socks or bare feet until they have learned to stand and are pretty sure on their feet, then we go directly to Robeez!

Vitamix - I've mentioned several times that this is my number one kitchen appliance! I use it daily for smoothies, grinding coffee, grinding grain, chopping, making soup - the list goes on! It is one of the best investments you'll ever make and you'll find that it eliminates the need for so many other appliances!

GreenPans - I'm a die-hard cast iron and stainless steel cookware person. I threw out my no-stick pans years ago. For my birthday last November, my mom gave me a set of these pans. Who knew I'd love them so much! They are free from all the chemicals that have given Teflon such a bad name, they heat wonderfully, they clean in a snap - they are now one of my favorites!

Wallypop - Our favorite cloth toilet wipes are the ones we purchased here.
