Another Great Local Meal - Second of Week 6

Tonight for dinner we had another fantastic local meal. With steak left over from last night's local meal cook-out, we had home-made steak fajitas. I made the tortillas from scratch - my first attempt. They were so easy to make and the family loved them. I made basic flour ones, but next time will probably make them whole wheat.

The steak is from our ranch; the peppers and onion are from our local farmer's market vendor, Lor's. They were grown within 60 miles of our home.

Not local: the shredded cheese and labne (cultured kefir cheese) that was from our local Middle-Eastern market.

This was a huge hit and I cannot believe that it has taken me so long to make homemade tortillas!

Here is a picture of the tortilla dough just before rolling it out.

Here are the raw ingredients before cooking - steak, onions and peppers.

The finished product - nice, warm flour tortillas!
