Well, this week we didn't fare so well with our One Local Summer participation! We had some local component in most of our meals this week, but it was a very busy week and I didn't get an entirely local meal planned.
My husband managed to come home for a quick trip this weekend from his 60 days on duty with the Army at Ft. Knox, KY - so our weekend was packed with a visit out to see the cows and Father's Day activities around the house with the girls.
We did have homemade blueberry pancakes for breakfast this morning with local blueberries, but not local flour.
Last night we had a delicious Father's Day dinner of tuna steaks (we purchased them from our favorite fish guys that drive up here once a month from the gulf), along with local broccoli but not local corn.
Earlier in the week we had nachos with our very own M4-D Ranch ground beef and local tortilla chips, but not local cheese.
We didn't meet our goal this week - but we ate well, not much in the way of "junk" and no fast food, so I consider our week a success even though not entirely local.
We'll probably do much better this coming week!

Hi, you were so nice to comment on my OLS post, but last week (and the week before) was so crazy that I neglected to reciprocate. I think we're "almost local" for at least one meal a day most days, but the 100% days take some effort. My big dilemma- an acid! Lemon juice, wine vinegar, those are my staples! What do you do about that. Oh, and I saw you used a local wine? Do tell!
