Welcome! If you are a new visitor to this blog through the Bloggy Giveaways going on this week, thanks for stopping in and please feel free to come back for a nice, leisurely visit sometime soon!
You can subscribe to this blog's feed or subscribe for email updates if you want to keep up with our activities - scratch cooking, home canning, home schooling, raising all-natural beef cattle - these are just some of the things that fill our days with fun!
Without further ado, here are the 5 FANTASTIC ITEMS I'm giving away this week for the 3rd Quarter Bloggy Giveaways Carnival, sponsored by Melanie at Bloggy Giveaways. As most of you know, thousands participate in this quarterly event - so good luck as you comment away this week!
Item #1: Gator Gripper - Painless Tooth Pulling Device
Without further ado, here are the 5 FANTASTIC ITEMS I'm giving away this week for the 3rd Quarter Bloggy Giveaways Carnival, sponsored by Melanie at Bloggy Giveaways. As most of you know, thousands participate in this quarterly event - so good luck as you comment away this week!
Item #1: Gator Gripper - Painless Tooth Pulling Device
I have talked and talked about how much I LOVE this little device! Designed by a dentist, this little alligator-shaped tool helps quickly and painlessly remove those precious little baby teeth without all the trauma of wet tissues, endless wiggling, scared tears - you know the usual drama. The lovely folks who make this nifty little device have allowed me to give one away this week - so please take a minute to stop by their website for much more information about how the Gator Gripper works. Be sure to tell your friends and don't forget - these would make great little Christmas presents! Retail value: $14.95 plus shipping.
Item #2: Fairy Foals - Illustrated Children's Book
Item #2: Fairy Foals - Illustrated Children's Book
You might have seen my glowing review of this book on my blog a few weeks ago. It is one of the most brilliantly illustrated childrens' books that I have seen in a long time. The story is richly woven with illustrations that keep my girls in the pages of this book every day. It is required reading at bedtime at our house. The publisher was kind enough to give me an extra copy to giveaway this week. You can read more about Fairy Foals at the link to the publisher and here at the author's website, Suzanah - if you don't win a copy from me this week, this would be another very worthwhile item to put on your Christmas gift list! Retail value: $19.95 plus shipping
Item #3: Custom, Hand-made, Beaded Bookmark and Prayer Journal E-book
Item #3: Custom, Hand-made, Beaded Bookmark and Prayer Journal E-book
As you can see from my sidebar, I have been making custom, hand-made, glass beaded bookmarks and offer them through my Etsy website. This week I'm giving one away, along with a copy of my Prayer Journal E-book that gives you a step-by-step plan for creating a lasting Prayer Journal and is complete with all the sample forms or pages you might want to use to get yours started. These make beautiful gifts for all occasions - birthday, anniversary, Christmas, Mother's Day, graduation, wedding, baby shower - the list goes on. Retail value: $12.97 plus shipping.
Item #4: Emergency Preparedness Food
Item #4: Emergency Preparedness Food
If you've been following along with my summer series on Family Emergency Preparedness Planning, you know that we try to keep at least 3-6 months of food on hand at all times. Some of this is store bought, much of it is home canned, and some of it is in the form of dehydrated emergency staples. As part of this week's giveaway, straight from my own preparedness closet, I have a #10 can of dehydrated lentils (5 pounds) and a #10 can of dehydrated, diced green and white onions (8 ounces). When hydrated, the lentils will provide 47 quarter-cup servings. The onions, when hydrated, will provide 90 Tablespoons. If you are not familiar with dehydrated food products - you can visit Mountain Brook Foods for more information about these two products. Retail value: $16.00 plus shipping
Item #5: Cloth Diaper Covers and Diapers

I have:
~ 6 small Dappi diaper covers (size 6 -13 pounds)
~ 3 medium Dappi diaper covers (size 12-24 pounds)
~ 1 large Dappi diaper cover (size 22-35 pounds)
~ 6 small cloth diapers and 2 medium/large cloth diapers
While these are not new, they are in very good condition - the covers have a breatheable cloth exterior, soft elastic legs, they are not cracking or peeling, the velcro still works very well and the colors are still vibrant. These would make some great extras for someone already using cloth diapers or as a gift for someone who isn't quite sure about using cloth and would like to try some out before investing in a larger quantity.

I would *really* love the Gator Grip! I have a little guy who has a few loose teeth, and one of them is broken. The dentist said we just need to wait, and it will come out eventually. But, oh man -- I already anticipate that it is going to be really bad coming out. Any help we could have would be so wonderful.
Thanks for the fun giveaways!

Hi we are homeschoolers too. I am a mom of 6 children. Ages 20,19,15,11,9,and 2. I have thought about being prepared for an emergency but have not started yet. I am not sure where to begin. There is always so many options suggested. It is a hard thing with so many people in my home and yet I know it should be done. I'll be back to read another day. Since you are a homeschooler too you might want to skip by to my blog for an offer to win some lesson plans. Apples, 2008 election or math games. Take your pick.
Have a fun time with the contest.

I have nothing for emergency planning and thats why I choose 4 first!
samsakara@twcny.rr.com
What a great giveaway! In winning order #5, 1, 3,2,4. I really hope to win the cloth diapers for my little boy. Thanks for the giveaway!
My order of preference is #2 because it'd be a great read for my step-daughter, #3 because the bookmark is very pretty, #5 because the diapers would make a nice baby shower gift, #1 because I'm sure it is better than the other methods used, then #4 because it'd be nice to have on hand in case of emergency.
partymix25(at)hotmail(dot)com
Order of preference: 1, 3, 4, 2, 5
I've been stocking up on essentials more than usual lately just to be better stocked and able to weather price increases and possible shortages. I've been focusing on shelf-stable foods that we eat on a regular basis.
3,1,2,4,5
What a lovely bookmark. Will have to check out your store. The first will be great when my 5 year old starts losing his teeth. I am new to your site and will have to come back to explore.
#5 - because we are planning on having a baby soon, and I want to try cloth diapers. =)
#3 - very pretty, and I love to read!
#4 - you can never be too prepared!
#2, #1 - don't have kids yet, but these would come in handy!
Great giveaway, but can I just say that #1 makes my stomach queasy...hahaha!
Brandy
Sorry for the double post. I forgot to post my email address. It is:
cherierj(at)yahoo(dot)com
The order I would pick is 2, 1, 4 and 3. I wouldn't choose 5 at all because, luckily, I'm past the diaper-changing stage with my kids. We haven't done emergency preparedness but I know it's a great idea so I will be checking back for some great tips.
1,2,5,4,3
These are great giveaways. I just love the little teeth pullers. My boys would get a kick out of them even though they are not quite to that age. I am a huge childrens book reader and would love to add to our collection.
I'd just like to win your emergency preparedness planning foods (#4). I'm also going to take a visit to the website you left concerning these things. I like this idea. I can be reached at 4bizkidz@bellsouth.net. Thank you very much.
Here's my order of items: 2,1,3,5,4 These would make great gifts for my little granddaughter!
Sheila
skkorman@bellsouth.net
3, 1, 2, 4, 5. The tooth puller thing is a neat idea...my husband is in dental, I will have to show it to him!
Oh I would love to win the diapers and diaper covers! My husband and I are expecting a surprise blessing and I would love to use cloth diapers. Please include me in your drawing. Thanks so much!
Mrs. H
#1,#3,#2,#5,#4
I love giveaways... #1 is a neat tool! Never seen one of those!
#5, #2, #4, #3. #1 creeps me out TBH. :P
I would LOVE to win the diapers, I'm expecting #3 in 2 months. I tried cloth with my son, but just prefolds with rubber pants. It was a disaster! I want to give it another try with #3 and need to build up a good arsenal. Thanks for the chance to win.
1,3,4,2,5.
My son came in last night, wiggling his bottom tooth. I cringed -- because I haven't been looking forward to the "loosing teeth" part of parenthood. That little gator may just help me make it through!
#2, #1, #3, #4, #5 - we've done lots of emergency food preparedness. My biggest success was making a list of what I had, where it was stored (under which bed, etc.), how much, etc. and then when I used out of it, I marked some off so I always knew how much I had without having to count all over again. Why didn't I think of that a long time ago?!
Uh...I didn't know such tooth pulling devices existed for parents! I need a set right now. My daughter has 3 loose teeth and will not pull them out. IT's very drama-filled! I'd take 1,2,3,4 but since my kids are already out of diapers (praise God) I'll pass on them. We did cloth diaper though.
What a great giveaway! I am interested in:
#4
#5
#1
#2
#3
We are interested in emergency preparedness and being somewhat self-sufficient. We raise some of our food, and have about a year's worth of food in the house at any given time. We need to work on water and paper products My e-mail address is:
arabianknits at gmail dot com
1-3-2-4-5
those are my numbers and I'm stickin to em!! lol
http://yelowflowersgarden.blogspot.com/
I'd love 1,3,2,4,5. #1 especially because I have a severe fear of loose teeth. Isn't that weird? I've noticed my 5yo daughter has a tooth that is just barely starting to wiggle, and I have no idea how I'm going to handle that when it gets worse. Just reading your description of what the Gator is used for gave me heebie jeebies. *shudder*
I'm new to your blog - through bloggy giveaways. :) I'm a hygienist and have never seen #1 - how great! I'm also planning to do cloth diapers with our next one (due Aug. 30 through adoption).
My preferred order :) - #5, #1, #3, #2, #4
I am new to your blog & love what I see. My email address is available in my blogger profile.
In order, I'd like 1, 2, 3, 5, then 4. Thanks!
5, 3, 2, 1, 4 is my order! Thanks for doing this giveaway! It's my first time to your site, but my third time participating in the bloggy giveaway carnival! I would love to cloth diaper, should we ever be blessed with a child, so the diapers would come in handy and I currently teach preschool, so my kids would love that booK :)
yay - my husband and I are going to start trying to have a baby somewhat soon and I am seriously thinking about cloth... would definitely be a cheaper way to start....
so...

I would love them all but the order would be 5, 3, 4 2 1.
Well, I would just love to win!
Order is 3, 2, 5, 4, 1.
Mostly because it is number 3 that I really really want as I am discovering the Bible and would really like a little bookmark to keep my place with!
2,1,5,4,3 - The book looks especially charming! I think it would be a great addition to our library. The others items look great as well, but the book is definitely my #1 pick.
Thanks!

#4,3,2,1,5
Thanks so much!
Sue
sagirl2@gmail.com
These are all great items! But I think my order would be 3,5,4,2,1. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'd like to win #1 because it looks like a great invention and I remember all the worry that came with removing my baby teeth. I was the biggest chicken and something like this might have made it less scary and more fun.
I'd like to win #4 because we could really use something like that to keep on hand. We live in California where there are earthquake fears.
I'd also like to win #5 because we've discussed cloth diapering but I'm afraid to "invest" money into diapers and hate them.
what fun giveaways you have going on here! My order would be 5, 1, 3, 2, 4 Thanks!
2, 5, 3, 1, 4
My daughter loves horses and is an avid reader. She would probably love the book. We also have a new baby on the way and I might be convinced to try cloth diapers again if I had them free.
Thanks for the giveaway. Here's my order: 5, 2, 3, 1, 4
1,2,4, & 3. My little one is almost 4 so this will come in handy when it's time to lose her teeth. My daughter would love the book.
I want another baby but hubby's not in agreement right now so it will be at the least another year before having another.
3,2,1 is my order.
Ok- so order of preference if I won- i would prefer #4, then #2, #3, #1 and last #5.
#4 is first because i can always use more food storage. I use Honeyvillegrain for quite a few of my products- powdered eggs and milk are must for cooking with little ones in an emergency. :)
thanks!
3,1,4,2,5. I had never even seen a tooth puller. How cool! Your blog is nice.
I would like to win item #2, and leave the rest for others. :) If I must must MUST put an order, it would be 2 - 4 - 1 - 3 - 5, but honestly, at this stage of our lives, only #2 would really be super useful to us.
Thanks!
1, 2, 3, 4, 5--right in the order that you gave them would be great!

Number 4 (don't need the others, so would rather those go to someone else). I was just talking to my husband about how unprepared we are. Right now I don't think we would last a week.
1, 3, 4, 2, 5--my oldest FINALLY has a loose tooth, and now he's got four more, so when it rains... ;)
And we're finally done with diapering--YIPPEE!! Thanks for the fun giveaway!

I would love to win the cloth diapers/covers for my son. We have been through EVERY DIAPER on the market and my son still gets rashes. We would love to try these out!
jasonncaryn at yahoo dot com
Oh WOW! I've never seen anything like that tooth puller. AMAZING and I gotta win it! Okeedohkee...
1, 3, 2, 4,5
My youngest JUST lost his first tooth and I've got the bruises to prove it...it was the ugliest ordeal involving floss, salty tears, loads of snotty tissues and bribery money. His 2nd one is loose right now and I'm really not up for more bruising! YIKES...
We make sure to plan with plenty of canned foods, bottled water and ALWAYS 2 fully filled BBQ tanks for any emergency cooking or water boiling...
3, 2, 4, 1, 5
Thanks for the giveaway!
3,1,2,5,4 Great items! I really like the tooth puller-really ingenious.
1 - gator teeth pulling thing seems really cool
2 - my daughters could always use more books
5 - i've always wanted to try cloth diapers but was too afraid of the money investment
4 - having emergency food sounds like a great idea
3 - it's pretty
i am a new reader. i found you via bloggy giveaways. i have not done any emergency planning.
2, 3, 4, 1, 5 These are awesome giveaways! What a great blog you have!
1, 4, 3, 2, 5
Well I am a new reader to your blog, but I am a blog addict even though I have strayed from my own, lol. I would love the gator gripper because we are entering that phase with my oldest son and I have actual fear about trying to pull his teeth if they get really wiggly! You can email me thru my profile!
4,3,5,2,1 - thank you for the giveaway!
1, 3, 4, 2, 5 This is awesome of you!! WOO HOO!
I am new to your site! I plan to come back! I've done food preparedness before but have dropped the ball in the last several years! Your site gives me hope today ( grandmother passed 2 days ago so I"ve been a bit down) & after the activities of this week I plan to be back & read some of your posts!
My order is 1,3,4,2,5 and this is a wonderful site and giveaway. With storms sometimes we are without power for 2 weeks so the food supply is great and the grippers are always needed , my books could always use a new marker and love the book, something to new to read to the babies and last but not least the undies. Count me to win
What an excellent giveaway! Here is my order:
Item #2: Fairy Foals - Illustrated Children's Book
My girls would love this! I have 3 and they devour books.
Item #3: Custom, Hand-made, Beaded Bookmark and Prayer Journal E-book
SO pretty, need I say more?
Item #1: Gator Gripper - Painless Tooth Pulling Device
Yea, 3 kids, this would make things much easier! I have never seen such a thing!
Item #5: Cloth Diaper Covers and Diapers
We cloth diaper, and while some of these would be two small, I have a few nearby friends with new babies that could use the smalls while I used the larges.
Item #4: Emergency Preparedness Food
It is a fantastic idea and honestly I need to get into this.
Thanks for offering such a great giveaway! I can be contacted through my blog.
well, I'm just going to pick number 5, cause that's what I'd really want! :)
I don't know if i'm actually too far away to enter this as i live in Australia but it didn't say!
My order would be 5,1,2,3,4. Our second son is due in 30 days (!!!) and we want to do cloth this time around but have a limited budget.
The tooth puller looks cool and i'm sure i will have years of tooth pulling to come (although with two boys maybe they will just knock them out :0)
My 3 yr old son loves books and would totally dig this- it looks truely beautiful!
I also love books and this book mark is beautiful!
Thanks a bunch for a wonderful and inspiring blog!

No children yet but we are going through fertility treatments and a prayer journal sounds like a VERY good thing.
If 5 or 1 are chosen for me, I have a friend who plans on cloth diapering her first child (due in November).

I have two ladies in diapers at the moment, and as soon as we get our own washer I plan on switching baby to cloth, 3 is beautiful, Our oldest loves books, and 4 because you can never be too prepared
These are great! Thanks for the chance to win some neat things! My order would be 3 because the E prayer journal is something I would love and I personally think will help me in my alone time with our Father. Then 4 because I'm trying to get back into the swing of meal preparations, and being that I don't have kids yet I'd go with 2,5,1.
Thanks!

#3, 2, 4, 1 and 5.....
The bookmark is beautiful, and I currently use a torn piece of paper! Books, we love books. The dehydrated food would be interesting to check out. 3-6 months of food! I am sooo impressed. I'm lucky if I have 3-6 days of food. We have a lot of mouths to feed, and my cupboards always seem bare! I have two little ones that will have loose teeth, but daddy would have to do that one! I'm down to my last one in diapers and do not use cloth so those would be better given to someone else. Thanks for the fun!
hgwhite@mosquitonet.com
2,1,3,5,4 They are all great prizes!!! thanks for the giveaway!!!
2,1,3,4,5 Great giveaways!! Thanks!
The only emergency plan we have is stocking up.. on food water ect..!!!
2, 3, 1, 4, 5, I love the book - my kids love horses (and fairies). My first initial is M and I am a reader so the beaded bookmark looks mice. My 2nd and third are losing teeth and it is always a production when the teeth are about to come out. Not much use for the diapers - my kids are older and all potty trained :) - all the prizes look great.
Hi,
I'm newbie to blogging so the giveaways are especially exciting for me! #5, then 2, please. New reader.

That book looks wonderful for my daughter! I have been thinking about using cloth diapers on my baby due in September and I have also been thinking a lot about emergency preparedness lately. I'd like to get a kit ready for keeping around, but first I have to actually finish unpacking my house!
Thanks for offering these great prizes:)

I'd give the bookmark to my best friend for her birthday, she loves to read and it would be sweet for her.
I could use the diaper covers for our baby girl due September!
and who doesn't need Emergency food! We have hurricane/tropical storm warnings over here in VA quite often!

I'd like #2, my girls are really into fairies so this would be perfect. As for prepared, does having a room ready just in case a tornado strikes count? Yep after the first one went through here kids wanted to feel safe so we've prepared an area in the house with their favorites.
This is a great giveaway. I'd love #1, #2 and #4. My daughter is 5 and the first 2 items would be very handy. I haven't done any emergency preparedness planning but having #4 items would be a good start. Thanks.

I am a new reader. I am just beginning to do emergency preparedness planning by stocking up on some basics for my family. I am out of work due to disability and it is hard preparing on such a tight budget, but I buy a little more rice or a little more beans or bottled water whenever I have a few extra dollars. I have a garden going in my inlaws' backyard. I am learning new skills in self-sufficiency, slowly but surely. As you can see, the food is number one on my list for that reason!

I am expecting my 3rd baby, and gave all my cloth diapers to another mom, since I wasn't suposed to be able to get pregnant. (We're thrilled!) I could really put those diapers and covers to good use!
My husband and I have also started putting together an emergency food supply, and lentils is one of our favorite legumes!
Thanks for the opprotunity! I'm off to browse your 'Homeschool' tab!
