Wrapping

I spent the afternoon at my mom's house wrapping Christmas presents for the girls. We put my mom's tree up on Thanksgiving weekend, and she likes to have presents wrapped and ready to go under the tree immediately.

As usual, she went a bit overboard - we sit down each year and brain storm about what the girls need and what they don't, some fun things they might like to have and some educational tools that would be helpful. But without a doubt, mom always seems to find a few "extras" for each of the girls that she just can't resist.

And as my youngest seems to get older and more advanced by the day, I understand her reasoning - these are the only grandchildren she has and she is really enjoying her time as a grandmother. So, I try not to say too much and just enjoy and appreciate the fact that she is healthy, lives nearby, and has a chance to be so involved in the lives of her granddaughters. Creating memories that they'll forever cherish, much as I do the memories of my Nannie.

Let the holidays commence!
